![]() Self-Storage Tips: Getting Ready for Fall There's no denying things will be different this fall, but the leaves are still changing, and temperatures will drop. As we enjoy the sweater weather and hot cider, it's time to start preparing for the winter. Our affordable Belleville self-storage units are perfect for keeping your summer items safe while you make room for snowblowers, jackets, and scarves. Here are a few tips to make the most out of your end of the season storage. Are you looking for a unit? Please call U-Lock-It Self Storage today for availability. Keep it organized It's more fun taking out the swimsuits than it is putting them back in a box. There's no denying that. But you should still take your time and keep organized when putting away your summer items. Make sure you pack clothes neatly in a box with other clothes (i.e., don't store them along with summer toys). Label every box, so you're not scrambling next spring. Do you really need that? Storing items to make room for the next season is the perfect opportunity to eliminate clutter. While you're filling your boxes, ask yourself, "do I really need this?" If the item is still in good shape, consider selling or donating. This is a great way to free up room and use fewer boxes. Proper storage We suggest using labeled plastic bins for storing summer clothes. Storing this way will keep your clothes looking and smelling great when you take them out in the spring. For lawn furniture, we suggest cleaning thoroughly before putting the covers on them. If you don't have lawn furniture covers, we recommend using a tarp. While it's no fun thinking about winter when the sun is still hot, you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to beat clutter with an Ypsilanti self-storage unit. Call us today for availability and prices.

You made a really great point about using self-storage boxes as a way to declutter your house. Preparing for the winter season has revealed just how many of the items in my house aren't going to be used for a good few months, and just keeping them there really takes up a lot of space. If I can find a self-storage unit, I'll make sure that I organize everything and get rid of things that are truly unusable anymore before storing whatever's left there.

I think you make a great point about donating your stuff to make more room. I need to get a storage unit for all of my bikes. I'll have to consider getting a storage unit that is climate-controlled.

I appreciate you helping me to understand that it is a good idea to use plastic bins when you are storing clothes in a storage unit. My son is going to college soon, and I am wanting to send him with a lot of extra clothes. Since he won't have room in his apartment for the clothes, it would probably be a good idea for me to find a storage facility for him.

My favorite part of this article is the importance of keeping your products organized to prevent problems in your storage. I have a cousin who is looking for a self-storage that he will use for storing business products and asked if I have any idea what is the best options for him. I wanted to thank you for your explanation about the importance of consulting a self-storage service and I'll be sure to tell him that it will be much better if he consults one.

It was most captivating when you discussed that storing items to make space for the next season is the best chance to remove clutter. This convinced to pursue getting a self storage unit. With that said, I'll start looking for a secure storage facility near my place.
